School Meals
The dining rooms operate a cafeteria system with a choice of menu provided by our contracted catering company "Mellors", who have a five star rating for hygiene.
School lunches have a wide and varied selection to choose from. A meal deal currently costs £2.30 and provides a nutritious and balanced main meal and dessert/drink.
The tutor requires a letter from parents to inform them that they wish their son/daughter to bring a packed meal. If a packed meal is brought it must be consumed in the dining area. Drinks may be brought for lunchtime consumption but they must be in an unbreakable container; glass bottles must not be brought into school.
Pupils who have lunch in school are not allowed to leave the premises during the lunch break.
Chewing gum and sweets must not be brought into school.
Cashless Catering System
Healing School operates a Cashless Catering System for school lunches.
You child's biometric details will be taken on the first day of the new term, only with a parents written consent. Built into the Cashless Catering System is an overdraft facility. This allows for a pupil to go up to £2.50 overdrawn, should their balance be insufficient to pay for their lunch. They will be informed of this by the till operator, but will be allowed to take a lunch. However, lunch accounts will not be allowed to exceed a deficit balance of £10. In these circumstances, pupils are expected to bring a packed lunch.
Methods of payment;
- Parents may continue to make payments by cheque at the school (cheques should be made payable to 'Healing School').
- Pupils may use top-up machines, using cash, located at key points around the school. Pupils will be shown how to operate these by their form tutor. These machines can also be used to check your balance.
ParentPay
We hope you will support us in achieving our goal to become a cashless school and reduce the workload on our staff. Your support in using ParentPay will help the school enormously.
Parents may make payments by:
- Cash or cheque using the PayPoint network at local convenience stores.
- ParentPay online using your credit or debit card.
Please notify the School Office if you wish to use the PayPoint facility. A plastic card will be issued to you to make cash payments for school meals at local PayPoint stores. The first card is free of charge; however, any lost or damaged cards will be charged at £2 each. Payment cards take about 2 weeks to arrive but we will issue a barcoded letter as an interim measure.

Making a payment is straightforward and ParentPay holds a payment history for you to view at a later date; no card details are stored in any part of the system. Once you've activated your account you can make online payments straight away.
