Mrs Dewland's Weekly Blog - Week 1
Welcome to the first day of the new term – and to my weekly blog.
Communication between school and parents has never been so important and this is another way of keeping you informed.
Thank you for keeping your children at home, thereby helping to ensure that the school community is safer and the NHS is protected.
New work for all year groups has been published today on our website today and can be accessed via the Covid-19 tab. All we ask with the work set is that all pupils try their best. We understand and appreciate that each pupil will work at different rates - some will adapt quickly and cope, others may struggle.
It will also be difficult as a parent, particularly if you are supporting children with school work whilst working from home or you are one of our key workers - we understand the position you find yourself in and you’re not alone - my team is here to help and support you.
There will be a planned curriculum recovery programme once we return also. As for when that might be, we do not know. We will follow Government guidance and we will only return when it is safe for pupils and staff to do so.
In the meantime, getting children in some sort of routine would be ideal.
You know them best – I just want you to know that we are here and if you or your child are struggling with any aspect of the work set, please get in touch with their teacher via the school’s office email.
For those Year 11 pupils and parents who have not yet seen the latest Ofqual advice on GCSEs, please find it here.
Most importantly of all, I hope you and your family keep well and stay safe. We will get through this.
