It Added Up To A Fun Afternoon!
Inquisitive pupils were equal to a maths and science challenge in a special event at Healing School.
Year 6 pupils from six Grimsby-area primary schools, switching to Healing in September, competed in the friendly quiz.
The young people from Keelby, Laceby Stanford, Healing, Coomb Briggs, Stallingborough and Wybers Wood primaries pitted their wits against each other in the battle to win the Maths and Science quiz trophy. The winners were Healing Primary School with runners-up Coomb Briggs.
Healing School Principal Mark Knapton said the pupils enjoyed an afternoon of code-cracking, guessing the picture, anagrams and Morse code, as well as solving hidden mysteries.
The afternoon was organised by Maths teacher Mrs Portess and science teacher, Mr Harrison.
The Year 6 pupils were supported by a team of Year 7s from Healing, many of whom took part in the quiz last year before moving up to secondary school.
Mr Knapton said: "The event is designed to give primary pupils a taste of what lessons and life will be like when they move up to Healing School in the new term and hopefully dispel any concerns they may have.
"They all had a lot of fun and met some new friends too. We're looking forward to welcoming them back as Healing School pupils in September."
