Artist Delivers Creative Workshop
This term, artist Jayne Cooper and Gallery owner Wendy Konradsen visited year eleven art pupils in the art department.
The duo gave a talk about the artist work and ran a workshop about the techniques that Jayne uses in her own paintings. Pupils were given a loosening up, mark making exercise to start with. They used a variety of different sized brushes, sponges, card and masking tape to develop an array of marks and colours. Jayne encouraged the pupils to experiment and enjoy! This was followed by a more structured technique of drawing with a brush into wet paint in a figurative manner.
Jayne Cooper commented on how engaged the pupils were in their paintings. Obviously they felt inspired! They made exciting work which they can now incorporate into their GSCE folders.
Well done Year 11 Art pupils.
